OUR BOY ALEX TO BE A MASCOT FOR THE BLUES

Alex McKinnon will be the mascot for New South Wales tonight, as they head into game two of the State of Origin.

The Newcastle Knights forward will be at ANZ Stadium to support the Blues, nearly three months after suffering a serious neck injury in a match against Melbourne.

Assistant coach Matt Parish said his presence will be a massive boost as the team looks to break Queensland’s eight-year stranglehold.

“Alex has been an inspiration to everyone in the NRL, to see how he is recovering and how he’s taken on the adversity that he has”.

“His story, what he’s been through, lifts everyone”, he said.

The game kicks off at 8pm.
