ANZAC DAY COMMEMORATIONS BEGIN ACROSS THE HUNTER

Hundreds of Hunter students have begun commemorating ANZAC Day.

The first combined schools ceremony took place in Newcastle’s Civic Theatre today… there’ll be another in Singleton tomorrow.

“It’s a great opportunity to remember those people that gave the ultimate sacrifice and gave up so much so that we could live the life we live today.”

On April 25, the Newcastle dawn service will begin at Nobbys at 5am.

Extra buses, ferries and trams will run from 3:30… veterans and their families will be able to ride for free.
