The Hunter’s only waterfront gallery is undergoing a major expansion.
A sod-turning marked the start of a $2.3-million extension to Lake Macquarie City art gallery.
“The gallery has been fantastic. We’re getting 40-50,000 a year but we don’t have the space. All our surveys say we need more space, we want to see more exhibitions. Our collection is growing and nowhere to put it.” – Debbie Abraham, Art Gallery Director
The facility closed today and will reopen in September with more exhibition and storage space, a reconfigured entrance and a covered outdoor learning area, to enjoy views of the lake.
