An early season blow for the NRRRL defending premiers, with Tweed Coast Raiders Drew Lanston sidelined due to injury.

During Saturday’s game, the five-eight fell to the ground in pain – suffering a broken ankle and torn ligaments after an awkward tackle.

He’s expected to be out for at least 10 weeks while he recovers.

It was an otherwise successful day for the club, dominating in every grade.
