PUSH FOR CARRIAGE COVERS FALL ON DEAF EARS

Poor air quality alerts continue to be rolled out across the Upper Hunter, with several issued today thanks to nearby fire activity.

But a local environment group is pushing for lower air pollution levels year-round, and there’s been little commitment from the major political parties days out from the federal election.

  1. Start now to cover every coal wagon.Within 3 years why can’t every waggon be dust secure.Health is the issue and is a major health issue.Suburbs close to the rail line are going to benefit a lot as well as those to where the coal laden dust travels in the wind.
    Time to stop trying to save a buck and get on with it.Cover the waggons properly anfd completely to solve this issue.
