NORTH WEST WARNED ABOUT NEW GUN LAWS

North West residents are being warned that anyone found in possession of illegal firearms could face even harsher penalties under a new state government proposal.
A firearms and weapons bill was introduced to state parliament this week by Police Minister Troy Grant, in a bid to crack down on the illegal gun trade.
It proposes a number of changes including a new offence for the possession of a stolen firearm, which carries a maximum penalty of 14 years imprisonment.
