MAN ARRESTED AND WOMAN STILL ON THE RUN AFTER NEWCASTLE CARJACKING
A male driver was lucky to walk away unharmed after his two passengers allegedly threatened him when approaching a road side breath test on Saturday night.
Police pursued the vehicle on Raymond Terrace after it failed to stop for the RBT but was soon called off when it became too dangerous.
During the pursuit the car slowed with the driver jumping out, before a passengers got behind the wheel and took off again.
The accused pair were again spotted in Mayfield on Tuesday, where officers arrested a 40-year-old man.
The female passenger managed to escape in a blue Nissan Navara.
The man was charged with a string of offences including aggravated driving and possessing a knife in a public place.
He remains in custody and will appear before Raymond Terrace Local Court on March 25.
