AIR POLLUTION FROM TOXIC UNDERGROUND FIRE “EXCEEDED DAILY STANDARDS”

There are fresh concerns tonight about a fire in a toxic waste dump on Kooragang Island, with the EPA saying pollution levels recently exceeded air quality standards.
The agency also admits the underground blaze – which has been burning for more than two months – has only been the subject of air monitoring for two weeks.
