Level 3 water restrictions are now in place for Tamworth, Kootingal and Moonbi after Chaffey Dam dropped below 30-percent capacity.
From today, outdoor watering with a hose will only be allowed for 15 minutes per day between 6 and 8pm.
Tamworth Regional Council says the average daily consumption has been about 30-megalitres.
It’s aiming to reduce this to just 21-megalitres a day.
