GREENS ANNOUNCE $1.8BILLION POST COAL COMMUNITY FUND

The Greens are pushing for a $1.8-billion investment in communities, transitioning away from coal.

They’re proposing to fund the plan using 20 per cent of the state’s coal royalties.

“Newcastle and the Hunter will get approximately half of the funds, approximately $900-million.”

The program would run for 10 years from 2020 to 2030.
