While fireworks may be a New Years Eve tradition, for many of our furry friends it can be a terrifying experience.
Pet owners are being reminded to make sure their dogs and cats are in a safe place tonight, during the festivities.
“As we know the fire crackers and the festivities during New Years Eve can spook dogs and they get out and end up in our pound, or worse still, get injured or killed on the road”
Pounds across the region are expected to see an increase of lost animals over the next few days.
