MAN SERIOUSLY INJURED IN AGGRAVATED ROBBERY

A man has undergone surgery at John Hunter Hospital, after suffering a fractured jaw and cuts to his face during an aggravated robbery at Taree.
At around 1am this morning, two men asked for a lift from a 32-year-old Taiwanese man.
During the trip, the men told him to stop the car near railway tracks, where they stole his wallet and ran from the scene.
The driver tried to chase the men, but was struck in the face with a beer bottle.
He managed to drive himself to Taree Police Station, where paramedics were called.
The men are described as being Caucasian in appearance and aged in their 20s.
One has a large build with blonde hair and the other is shorter with dark hair.
