A 58-year-old woman was left trapped in the wreck of a car near Taree this afternoon, after it crashed into a median strip on the Pacific Highway.
The woman was travelling south, when the car ran off the road and ended up on the north-bound lanes.
It took emergency services an hour to free the woman.
Both she and a man also in the vehicle escaped with only cuts to their arms and legs but were taken to Manning Hospital for observation.
