OUT-OF-CONTROL GRASS FIRE BURNING WEST OF PORT MACQUARIE
Strong north-easterly winds are making conditions difficult for firefighters, working to contain a grass fire burning west of Port Macquarie.
A fire has ripped through more than 200 hectares of land at Toms Creek Road, west of Port Macquarie. 8 crews are on the ground battling the blaze which is being fueled by strong winds along with hot and dry conditions. @nbnnews pic.twitter.com/BN3ss5QuPw

The blaze is burning near Toms Creek Road at Ellenborough, around 25 kilometres west of Wauchope.
It’s already burnt through around 85 hectares.
There’s a number of isolated properties in the area, however, the fire currently poses no risk to those homes.

It’s burning in a south-westerly direction, and remains at Advice level.
