Property owners at Talarm west of Macksville say foxes are becoming a major problem in the area.
Today, they were given advice on how to conduct a fox eradication program using baits containing the poison 10-80.
An officer from the Livestock Health and Pest Authority told the group the most successful programs have strong community involvement.
Michael Thorman said,”The group approach enables land owners to control pests across a broader landscape”
Property owner Sandi Cleary said,”Fox numbers seem to be increasing lately and they do have a major impact on wild life and stock numbers.”
Residents will undertake courses to learn how to distribute the baits and will soon publicise a date and venue for another community meeting.
