BYRON COUNCIL FIGHTS BEACH EROSION

Byron Bay’s carved out coastline is set to receive a bit of TLC.

A state government grant of $300 000 has been provided to council to go towards erosion protection works at Belongil Beach.

The money will allow council to replace bags with rocks, to shelter the Manfred Street public access point at the Spit.

Wild storms have caused the coastline to deteriorate significantly over the past six months.
