SHENHUA SAYS EARLY WORK WON’T AFFECT CONDITIONS

Chinese mining company Shenhua has rejected claims it needed to meet several planning conditions, before the state government approved more pre-construction work on its proposed Watermark Coal Mine.
Shenhua says “the recent modification approved by the government will mean the company can carry out further exploration before design plans are submitted, and it will not affect any previous requirements.”
The Lock the Gate Alliance is now calling on the federal government to intervene.
