GOSFORD HOSPITAL STAFF REFUSE TO WORK AT COUNTER

Gosford Hospital staff have refused to work at a temporary patients enquiry counter, after a visitor became abusive last week.
The Health Services Union says it wants jump-wire or a perspex barrier to be installed at a new counter opening in March.
It says these measures will protect staff – who may be working alone – from future threats and violence.
The Central Coast Local Health District says extra security patrols will be carried out, as negotiations continue.
