$200-MILLION BAYSWATER UPGRADE APPROVED

The state government has approved a $200-million upgrade of Bayswater Power Station, near Muswellbrook.

Operated by AGL, it generates power for around two-million homes.

The major overhaul will begin next February, replacing the station’s four turbines, increasing output and reducing emissions.

The upgraded Bayswater is scheduled to operate until 2035, bridging some of the shortfall when the Liddell station closes in 2022.
