To surfing, and Suffolk Park’s Soli Bailey had a dream run in round-two of the Vans World Cup at the world-famous Sunset Beach.
The 23-year-old blitzed the competition – snatching two of the heat’s highest wave scores just five minutes in.
Meanwhile, Lennox Head’s Stu Kennedy started off on the back foot in heat 16….before a mid-range score of six moved him clear of Luke Shepardson and Liam O’Brien.
His backup score, a 4-point-6 enough to ensure safe passage to the next round.
Both North Coast representatives will hit the waves for round-three in the coming days.
