Restrictions have eased for water users along the Namoi River.
It follows a downpour of around 40-millimetres last week, which replenished weir pools and soaked the dry river bed.
And while it’s good news for now, the Department of Primary Industries stresses that the drought isn’t over and water shortage conditions remain widespread.
