The New England North West felt the effects of the dust storm the system rolling into the region by mid-morning.
Moving in from the west, it brought with it some strong winds.
The orange haze only thickened into the afternoon, but the Bureau of Meteorology predicts it should clear up overnight.
While it wasn’t as colourful as the red skies of 2009, it was still quite the sight.
