Port Macquarie’s Lauren Kitchen gave an impressive performance in the Women’s World Road Race Championship in the US on the weekend.
The 24-year-old made a two-rider breakaway with 15 minutes left, but fell back on the final climb.
Kitchen finished 46 seconds behind the winner – Great Britain’s Elizabeth Armistead.
