SEVERE STORMS SMASH NORTHERN NSW
SES volunteers were kept busy on Saturday with the Northern Rivers battered by a series of severe storm cells.
Crews responded to more than 70 jobs including 16 at Lismore, with the majority related to fallen trees and leaking roofs.
Further north, the coastal village of Pottsville recorded 112 millimetres in the 24 hours to 9am this morning.
While residents at Urbanville, north-west of Kyogle, reported hail stones the size of golf balls.
The storms forced the cancellation of a number of events including at the Lismore Speedway.
