HALF HOUR WAIT IN PRE-CHRISTMAS PRAWN RUSH

Those keen on the freshest possible seafood faced a long wait this morning, as queues stretched well out the doors at Ballina.
Some customers lining up from 6am, with most waiting 30 minutes just to get to the counter.
Extra staff were put on to manage the pre-Christmas prawn rush – the busiest time of year for Northern Rivers Seafood.
“Yes absolutely, unfortunately but it’s really good the customers are really great, they’re understanding and we bust our butt in there to get the job done and their happy so it’s good,” Manager Northern Rivers Seafood, Shannon Moir-Jenkins said.
There’s plenty of seafood to go around, with trading to resume as normal on Boxing Day.
