CHILD AT RISK ALERT SYSTEM A SUCCESS: STUDY FINDS

A report has found an alert system, set up to notify health workers when children are at risk of significant harm, has helped to improve patient outcomes.
The research project, which was conducted over three months within the Northern Rivers local health district, had six key findings.
“Health workers told us very strongly in this survey that they would like more training on how to respond to interpersonal violence, abuse and neglect and in particular they’d like more interagency collaboration.”
It’s the first study of its kind, and researchers are planning to broadcast their findings internationally.
