The elderly driver of a car, involved in a collison with a cattle truck on the Pacific Highway at Urunga yesterday, has died in hospital.
The 93-year-old local man was the only person in the sedan.
Police say he pulled out onto the highway from a service station, and was hit by the B-double, which was heading north.
The truck driver and his cattle escaped injury.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
