B- DOUBLE CRASH CAUSES TRAFFIC MAYHEM ON PACIFIC HIGHWAY

Both lanes of the Pacific Highway near Ballina were blocked for most of today after a B-double slammed into power lines.
The accident happened shortly after five o’clock this morning when the truck driver lost control, crossed onto the wrong side of the road and rolled his vehicle.
While he was lucky to escape with minor injuries the same can’t be said for his ride.
The majority of traffic was diverted around the crash site, however truckies had no option but to wait, heavy vehicles forming long queues in both directions.
“You’d think they’d come along and give you a rough estimation of the time wait or something.”
One lane was reopened at 2.30 this afternoon.
