Police are investigating the debris of a yacht, discovered in the net of a fishing trawler off Newcastle today.
The barnacle-covered wreckage includes parts of a broken mast, a tiller and jib.
Police are looking into whether they belong to a yacht which disappeared in rough seas in September last year.
The bodies of Antonio Giner and Piers Dudley-Bateman were later found on Stockton Beach.
The pair was sailing from Sydney to Port Stephens when they struck trouble.
