Santos has copped a $1500 fine from the Environmental Protection Authority, after using treated water from its Narrabri project to irrigate a lucerne crop.
While the irrigation was on Santos’ own land, the company failed to obtain the right approval.
The EPA says Santos had ceased irrigation activities at Leewood while the matter was resolved, but will not be permitted to irrigate until they have obtained approval.
