NAMOI UNLIMITED MAKING GROUND IN CANBERRA

Namoi Unlimited has returned from a trip to Canberra.
The group is made up of five local councils from Tamworth, Gunnedah, Gwydir, Walcha and Liverpool Plains.
During the two-day trip, the group lobbied the federal government for better roads, water security and skills training….
Including a university for Tamworth.
“We really struggle to retain our youth, they finish year twelve and go off to metropolitan areas to do tertiary education. A university in Tamworth would make a huge difference to us to make sure that these youth can stay in our region,” Namoi Unlimited Chair, Jamie Chaffey.
The group also put forward a $300-million road project.
“Which of course will bring more transport into our region and of course get our great products that we produce in our region, out of our region.”
