PIONEERS HOLD OUT LATE QUEENSLAND FIGHTBACK

The New South Wales Pioneers, have held on to beat the Queensland Rangers 28 points to 18 in Brisbane.
The Pioneers squad featured a host of players from the Newcastle competition, with Alex Langbridge from Wests scoring the second try for the visitors.
Fellow Rosella Chad O’Donnell made it 16-6 to New South Wales shortly before the break.
Another Wests representative made it 20 points to 12 midway through the second half.
Queensland got close in the dying stages, but the Pioneers clinched the win with a late try to Jarom Haines.
