BEEKEEPERS URGED TO INSPECT HIVES FOR DISEASE

Beekeepers are being urged to watch out for dead larvae and dark caps in their hives.
It’s American Foulbrood Awareness Month, and regular checks are encouraged to make sure the disease doesn’t spread.
If hives are found to be infected, the Department of Primary Industries must be notified within a day.
Affected bees will need to be euthanised.
