NORTH COAST FLOODING EASES

The risk of major flooding on the north coast eased today with only light rain falling in river catchments.
At Darkwood, near Bellingen, families remain stranded with several low level bridges inundated.
And while river levels are falling a number of minor roads in the Bellingen, Nambucca and Macleay shires remain closed.
The easing of rainfall has brought relief in the Bellingen Shire which has suffered minor flooding over the past two days.
The SES says people living near rivers need to remain on flood watch overnight.
