TAMWORTH’S SPORTING FIELDS TO RECEIVE LIGHTING UPGRADE

Tamworth’s sporting infrastructure is set to receive a significant upgrade, thanks to a state government grant.

Just over $558,000 has been allocated to ensure the region’s sporting fields have adequate lighting.

20 new light poles will be installed at six full-size sporting fields, to encourage more night-time matches and training sessions.

It’s hoped the lighting will also help to attract new events to Tamworth and increase festival camping security.
