NORTH STAR QUARRY GETS THE GO AHEAD

The construction of a new quarry at North Star has been get given the go-ahead.
The Tikitere hard rock quarry has the potential to extract 500,000 tonnes per year.
The new site will include the construction of a site office, crushing area, stockpiles and roads.
A smaller white rock and gravel extension was also approved today.
The product from the quarry is expected to be used in the construction of the Narrabri to North Star leg of the Inland Rail project.
