MOREE CBD SPEED TO DROP TO 40KM/H

The speed limit in Moree’s town centre will change from next week.

This will include Balo, Frome and Herber Streets, due to the high pedestrian activity.

But the Mayor says people are probably only doing 40km/h anyway.

“We have it and hear it and see it so often: people crossing roads with their earphones in or on their mobile phone.. You know, if they can’t protect themselves, we have to try and protect them because they’re too stupid to protect themselves,” Moree Plains Shire Mayor, Katrina Humphries.

The new speed limits will take effect from next Thursday, September 20.
