MAN CHARGED OVER ARMED ROBBERY AT GRETA

A 21-year-old man has been charged over an armed robbery in the Hunter Valley last year.
The man was arrested in Lithgow on Wednesday and charged with robbery while armed with a dangerous weapon.
It’s alleged he was one of three men who forced their way into a licenced premises on West Street at Greta, at around 5 o’clock in the morning on December 22.
The trio, who were armed with a firearm, samurai sword and baseball bat then allegedly struck a staff member over the head.
They made off in a ute with a number of items including a mobile phone, laptop and alcohol.
The injured staff member was taken to Maitland Hospital suffering broken fingers and abrasions to his head.
Strike Force Timbrell was set up to investigate the robbery, with a second 21-year-old arrested earlier this month.
He remains before the courts.
