HUNTER SPORTS GIRLS KNOCKED OUT IN BILL TURNER TROPHY

Still on football and Newcastle High’s boys, have lost their Bill Turner Cup semi to Westfield Sports.

In the Bill Turner Trophy, the Hunter Sports girls lost to Westfield on penalties.

With Matildas head coach Alen Stajic and assistant Gary van Egmond looking on, the home side grabbed the advantage late in the first half thanks to Mika Maroly.

But the local girls couldn’t hang on in the second half.

Hunter Sports will now play Kelvin Grove College from Brisbane in the third place play-off tomorrow.
