NEW MINE SUBSIDENCE DISTRICT AT BRANXTON

A new mine subsidence district has been declared for areas around Branxton.

Around 30 properties and proposed developments lie within the zone which extends from Branxton, through Belford and Rothbury to Pokolbin.

The district covers an area of historical underground mine workings in the Cessnock and Singleton local government areas.

Applications to build or sub-divide within the area need to be approved by the Subsidence Advisory.
