POLICE UNION CALLS FOR EXTRA STAFFER AT GUNNEDAH

Union delegates from the Gunnedah Police station are calling for an administration employee to be appointed.
The new station is fast taking shape, but currently there’s no one to man the front desk.
“When we’re out at a job, more often than not we have to have the front doors closed. What we’d like to do and what we’re trying to push for is for an administrative officer to be here, available in the station to answer those phone calls and counter inquiries while the police are out doing their job,”
New South Wales Police says it’s yet to receive a motion from the branch, but is happy to enter into discussions on the issue.
