CONTRACT AWARDED FOR GUNNEDAH’S ROAD OVER RAIL PROJECT

Gunnedah’s $62-million Road Over Rail project is ploughing ahead.
Today, contracts were awarded to construction company Daracon, with local tradesmen expected to be employed as work continues.
It will include building a new overpass to replace the level crossing on New Street, and a roundabout at the View Street intersection on the Oxley Highway.
It’s hoped the finished project will reduce congestion in the area.
Works are expected to begin in January next year.
