Work on Tomaree’s new HealthOne facility should start soon – with tenders now being sought.
The $8-million facility will sit alongside the current community hospital – providing peninsula residents with access to GP, pathology, medical imaging and dental services.
Health Minister Brad Hazzard says the location will be a one-stop shop.
“We’ve just had a quick look around, to see what’s going to be built here. They’ve already got a fantastic service – a new ED.”
“We’ll be integrating the new facilities, with the existing hospital.”
The government says construction should commence early next year.
The facility is among eight currently being built statewide.
