TAMWORTH TURNS 200 IN LESS THAN TWO WEEKS

Tamworth will be taken over by streamers and party hats in just under two weeks, as the city celebrates its 200th year.

After 18 months of planning, organisers say the bicentenary will be a chance for locals to celebrate all that the Country Music Capital has achieved.

Activities are set to run all day.

“There’ll be a lot of dance, a lot of music, marching, we’ve actually got four bands involved with that as well, and we’ve also got most importantly a very big community aspect to it as well.”

Celebrations will kick off at 9am next Sunday.
