Around 60 Speers Point residents say an affordable housing complex is not welcome in their backyard.
The plan for a two-storey, 14-unit building on Albert Street will go before Lake Macquarie Council tonight.
The application has been changed four times already, with those who live nearby fearing the street will be overrun by traffic.
