FRASER SLAMS OPTUS PHONE TOWER PLAN IN COFFS

A protest against plans for a mobile phone tower next to the Pacific Highway at Sapphire was given a boost today.
State Member for Coffs Harbour Andrew Fraser threw his support behind residents opposing the Optus project.
He wants locals to boycott the company until it fully consults with the community.
“I think Optus need a good kick in the backside over what they’ve done, they’ve obviously gone in and talked to one landowner, built their plans around it, haven’t consulted the others,” said Member for Coffs Harbour Andrew Fraser.
Optus says a final decision hasn’t been made on the 45 metre tower planned for the site and there will be consultation in the new year.
