THIRD ROUND OF FUNDING ANNOUNCED FOR FLOODPLAIN MANAGEMENT IN MOREE
We may be in the middle of a crippling drought, but it looks like the Moree community will need to prepare for the other extreme.
The state government has announced a third round of funding for flood management.
“This extra $313 thousand will bolster the fund that’s available here in Moree to allow people that wish to, to raise their homes, that have homes, in the floodplain areas of Moree,” says Member for the Northern Tablelands, Adam Marshall.
Through the fund, home owners pay a third of the cost of repairs, while the state and federal governments pay the remainder.
Eligible home owners must be within the designated flood area.
