A 34-year-old man was arrested at a Port Macquarie shopping centre this morning in relation to child grooming offences.
The investigation began after he allegedly targeted two 15-year-old boys online earlier this year, requesting explicit photos.
The arrest came after Sex Crimes Squad detectives posed as a 14-year-old boy and arranged to meet the man.
“We’d been engaged in communications both online and by mobile telephone with the person of interest for approximately four weeks, and in that communications, we arranged, he arranged a meeting with us.”
Police say a number of items relating to the investigation were also seized from his Coffs Harbour home.
