SALVOS CALL ON VOLUNTEERS TO PACK FARMER HAMPERS

The Salvation Army is calling on volunteers to help pack food hampers for struggling farming families.
The organisation has been inundated with donations through the ‘R U Aware, We Care’ drought campaign.
The hampers will be given to farmers who’ve contacted the Salvation Army – they’ll also be handed out at drought forums, which are expected to be held from next month.
“At the moment they’re all paying so much for animal feed, you know and that’s where a lot of their income is going, for the feed to keep their animals going. So you know it’s hard to buy food for yourself, when you’re trying to keep your income.”
Anyone wishing to help, should head along to the Salvation Army on Goonoo Goonoo Road, at 10am tomorrow.
