HUNTER NEW ENGLAND HEALTH APPEALS NEGLIGENCE RULING IN HIGH COURT

Hunter New England Health has launched an appeal in the High Court over a negligence ruling regarding the assessment of a mental health patient.

William Pettigrove strangled Stephen Rose after he was released from Manning Base Hospital in 2004.

Mr Rose’s family has been awarded $250,000 in damages, but the health service today appealed that decision.
